Whitney Port Takes Us Through Her Ultimate Skincare Routine

May 14, 2020

Whitney Port is pretty much the embodiment of the laidback LA look, but when it comes to her skin that hasn’t always been the case. “I have been sort of obsessed about my skin since I was 13-years-old with horrible acne” says Whitney. “I may not have acne anymore, but my skin is definitely ageing, so I try my best to use products that help with that.”

We asked Whitney Port, reality TV star turned lifestyle entrepreneur which beauty products she swears by, and how she’s using skincare to stay sane during lockdown…

Talk us through your skincare heroes

“I love the EltaMD Sunscreen, IT Cosmetics CC Cream, Embryolisse Moisturiser, Comfort Zone Sublime Skin Serum and Dr. Sheila Nazarian’s Exfoliating Scrub.

“When I have a zit forming, I’ll use Aveeno’s Clear Complexion Moisturizer as a budget spot treatment. Also, Crest White Strips really work when I can’t get my teeth professionally whitened.” (US only)

What about fragrance?

“My first perfume ever was Clinique, Happy. I remember feeling sooooo mature when it was time for perfume. Nowadays, I love Trish McEvoy Number 3 Snowdrop and Crystal Flowers and Le Labo Ambrette 9.”

How’s your approach to beauty changed since being in quarantine?

“I have decided to make it a priority to schedule out some ‘me time’ every day during quarantine. For me, that means going outside to read a book, going on a walk, watching easy TV, working out for at least 20 minutes or giving myself a facial.”

“When we were able to go, I LOVED hot yoga. It is my favourite workout ever. At home, I have had a bit of a lazy streak but I usually turn to @pilates_by_amanda @meganroup, or @laurengores mini-workout series.”

“I like to do this facial once a week at night… it leaves me feeling so clean and relaxed when I get into bed.”

Whitney Port’s Quick At-Home Facial

I start by using the Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm in the shower. It is gentle and calming. Then, I wipe off excess oil with Elysee A-Fluid Skin Tonic as advised by my facialist @nhskincare.

If you can’t get your hands on Elysee, a similar product is: BENEV Salicylic Acid Exfoliator.

Once my skin is fully dry, I use this Tinkle tool to exfoliate my skin. Facialist tip: It is very important that the skin is dry before using the dermaplaning tool so that you don’t have any slippage. I then immediately add moisture in to my skin with this COSRX Essence.

For serums, I mix this IMAGE Vitamin C Serum with Dr. Sheila Nazarian’s Hyaluronic Acid to calm my skin and add a glow.

I then finish with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream for extra, extra, extra hydration.

Sometimes I switch this product with Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream.

Oh, and a final step… I’ll use the Biossance Squalane and Rose Vegan Lip Balm. Never forget lip balm!
