It’s no real surprise that a smokey eye tutorial is one of the most-requested makeup looks ever on the internet. It’s a classic, timeless look — that, once mastered, can be tweaked, adjusted and played with — to suit any eye colour, shape or trend that comes along.
But many people shy away from trying out a smokey eye in the first place, worried by too many steps, products and complicated blending techniques.
So we’ve enlisted the help of Bobbi Brown Pro Makeup Artist, Amy Conway who’s here to show us the easiest smokey eye tutorial you’ll ever see. All it takes is ONE product and a whole ‘lotta smudging. You can’t go wrong…
Step 1: “Firstly take a long-wear pencil and apply around the whole eye in the waterline. This will give you definition at the lashline and instantly pop the white of the eyes, making them look bigger and wider”.
Step 2: “Layer up the pencil on the outer corner to enhance the cat eye shape, create a wedge from the top and lower lashline connecting it in to the waterline”.
Step 3: “Take a small blending brush to smoke out the liner, I love to use the Bobbi Brown Smudge Brush because it’s dense and completely blends out the liner whilst keeping the shape around the eye”.
Step 4: “Finish with a mascara, Smokey Eye Mascara is perfect to layer a full lash effect with this look. Keep the cat eye shape by combing the lashes out towards the outer corner”.
